How does this work?
Wonder how we put this all together for you? It's actually very straight-forward.
If purchasing a highlight package, you'll receive a kit in the mail that will include a return mailer as well as an information sheet and a log sheet. All you have to do is fill out the information sheet with your personal information and the log sheet indicating the highlights you've chosen from your game film. Then return the mailer with the information sheet, log sheet, and game film to us. We do the rest. Simple! You'll have a chance to proof the video, and then we'll finalize the DVD and ship the package to you.
If interested in independent short- or feature-film editing, please use the Contact Us page to send us your information and specifics. We'll be glad to get in touch with you to discuss the options available based on the information you provide.
Why have a highlight video?
Highlight videos are a key component in an athlete's strategy to secure scholarships at the next level of competition. While they are not the sole factor in determining to whom a coach will offer a scholarship, they can help by making a first impression more memorable. Highlight videos also help differentiate you from your competition.
Is it worth getting recruited?
There is a lot of competition for athletic scholarships. The great thing is that there are also great opportunities from NCAA Division I programs to the NCAA Division II programs to the NAIA programs. NCAA Division I has over 340 schools. NCAA Division II programs have more limited scholarship opportunities for their 90,000 athletes, but should not be overlooked. Overall the NCAA's 3 Divisions have more than 430,000 student-athletes competing in NCAA athletic programs, receiving more than $1.5 billion in scholarships. NAIA programs, while smaller than the NCAA, still offer more than $450 million in athletic scholarships. The money is out there in these scholarships and we do what we can to help you market yourself.
What makes a good highlight video?
While it may be stating the obvious, a highlight video needs to showcase your highlights and be as eye-catching as possible. A recruiter for an FBS school told us that if a video doesn't show something eye-catching within the first 2 or 3 plays, he was done with the video. Remember that when making out your log sheet of highlights. Another thing to keep in mind is that the coaches and recruiters are pressed for time and want a highlight video to be short and sweet. We recommend keeping the video under five minutes, including credits.
What video format does the game film need to be in?
Don't worry about it-- as long as you can get it to us, via disc, film or USB thumb drive, we should be able to handle it. Whether you shot in mini-DV, on a DVD, or used an iPhone, it doesn't matter to us.
